>> tara moriarty joins us live with what police are saying. >> reporter: they have broken up the loosely associated robbery ring. sometimes they would work together or they would work alone. mainly targeting people in the lake view area. now they made this announcement within the past hour and two of the suspects are teenagers. they are involved in the attempted robbery. it is an off duty sheriff's deputy and they have exclusive video being taken away by ambulance after being shot. police displayed the photos of some of the suspects. five in all. between them dozens of robberies. >> they stole cellphones mainly and purses and wallets. >> typically, they will decide among themselves what they want to do and when they want to do it. and they will take an opportunity. there is not much thought that goes into it and they see

someone who is distracted and take advantage of them and they will do so. >> now, police were able to locate many of the cellphones through serial numbers and tracking software. >> they wouldn't get into the robbery as they are still sorting through the stolen items. they have arrested 34 robbery suspects and since the beginning of this year. they have confiscated more than 560 firearms. they have an anonymous tip line set up before an actual crime happens, you can do so. that is available at their website. >> i am tara moriarty. a solano county deputy is glad he is alive. the deputy hit the big rig after pursuing the suspect to interstate 80. highway 37 and the island where they threw a loaded rifle out the window and back on to 37.

>> reporter: good afternoon. a family friend confirmed to me that the injured firefighter, the injured driver, i should say is a ross valley firefighters. 46-year-old richard marshal. chp officer told me they are running blood tests on him. trying to figure out if he was understand the influence. the officer tells me marshal was placed under arrest for a short time so they could do the blood draw and release him back to the to the hospital. his pickup truck hit a tree and he had a trailer with the speed bet and that flu into the creek bed. he suffered a broken neck in the crash. we went to the ross valley fire department and were not able to get anyone who could talk with us on camera about the accident. >> the chp officer confirmed to me they did get early indications it may have been a dyou i crash. >> do -- dui crash.

work retired space shuttle endeavour has landed in houston on unfortunate way to its new home in california. it will be flown from houston to edwards air force base tomorrow. then on friday it heads towards northern california for a path over the state capital and the bay area. if the skies are clear, you should be able to see it fly between 8:30 and friday morning and then it will be turned into a permanent exhibit at
